Glenn Slaven has posted a detailed look at scheduling in Wordpress 2.1. This functionallity replaces and builds upon the WP-cron plugin by Skippy – the main application I have for this function is correctly publishing posts that you have written in advance (including the ping). Via Ryan Boren.
Mr. Slaven is an Aussie and he has brought the country forward a little with his handy google maps AU firefox plugin. Feels good that Australia is finally on google maps

I am going to have to look into automated publishing and pings. This would be great when using ghost writers and adding mass content to blogs.
This way when I’m sitting on the beach I don’t have to worry about content being released
