With an improved editor, image uploader, security features, and more. Nice polish added to already great blogging software. Some things included in the release are going to help my projects a real lot; stuff like the ability to have any page as a static front page, and blogroll structure allowing subcategories makes WordPress a true CMS and not just a blogging platform that can be hacked into a CMS.
I’m hoping that my favorite plugins will still work (I wont be upgrading any of my existing sites until I have checked). More on plugins is available here.
One more feature that is going to make the internet a much, much better place: spellcheck. Until now I have been using the Google toolbar to spellcheck my posts, but it consistently screwed up my formatting. I guess this is why so many bloggers don’t bother…

Did you already install Ella? I had it running on a test site and found my most favorite plugin not working. It’s a plugin that searches not only postings but pages as well. Search Everything is the name. Also, while playing around with K2 I found some stuff not working of appearing. So I will wait. By the way: my brother still runs wp 1.5 on several sites without any problems.

Hi Al
I still run 1.5 on many sites, but my main ones (the ones that would hurt if they got hacked) I have made sure to keep up to date. WP1.5 is still a very good piece of software but there are security issues

Oh boy, hm, I will consider an upgrade then. Instead of the search everything plugin I could use the google search bar on my site. Guess WP is working on a search everything built in their default theme. At least lots of people are asking for.

Yeah, you could use adsense for search in the same way as the SEO adsense theme does. I checked out your blog ~ couldn’t understand much of it! Maybe you have to do a post just for us English speakers!
