Another question from my 103bees report was how to create a static front page in wordpress 2.1 ella - so here is the answer!
Log in to your Wordpress Dashboard, select Options > Reading.
It should be pretty self-explanatory from there, check the radio button next to ’static page’ and select the page you require. No plugin required!

Know of any situation that you would change the post page to page?
Would be really nice if you could have a full post be the homepage also… Maybe next release.
