Will my iPad 2 cover magnets damage my laptop hard drive? We all know that powerful magnets should be kept away from traditional hard drives which have spinning discs of magnetic material which is used to store data. I accedently nuked my iPod Classic with a strong magnet.
My laptop still has a magnetic hard disc (2.5″) and will likely be carried in the same compartment of the same bag when I travel. I believe these iPad 2 cover/case magnets are very strong – and the magnets are not only in the cover but in the iPad 2 also. I hope that Apple has considered this question and don’t experience covergate!
