Last.fm clients for Symbian and iPhone

We all know last.fm rocks… now there are clients for iPhone and Nokia Nseries (symbian). Hope Doug gets the streaming-over-wifi sorted for the n-series soon otherwise I might have to buy an iPhone… I love my Nokia, but this could be the killer app that finally makes me move to Apple. Gah.

Poker Is More Fun Than Work!

As you can see I haven’t been blogging at all lately - too busy surfing and winning at poker. I’m several thousand $ up in January so far, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be crying in February lol. Poker is big in the SEM world these days, if I ever quit the day job again I will be sure to take some money off some of the players

Where’s Pilkster?

No blogging because I’ve been a bit busy… I somehow got conned into working for a living again (and I’m not the only one).

Back in the UK

So here I am in Carlisle. Had to come back home for some family stuff. Feels very weird, did a quick pack up of the unit in Narrabeen - we were supposed to be moving to a new place on the 25th, good job we hadn’t I guess - had to leave Anne there to sort out the storage, undo the house move and everything.

Anyway, amongst all the other things I have to do whilst I’m here I might ping Idiot Boy for a drink. Looking at his latest post he is having a little spilt personality problem… can you imagine if all the hims turned up… a bar full of SEOidiots?

I’m a Surf Lifesaver Me!

This summer I have been training for my Surf Life Saving Australia Bronze Medallion with a squad at Narrabeen Beach surf club.

On Thursday we went to Manly surf club and joined up with Manly Bronze Squad for our written exam and practical tests in first aid, CPR, signals, radio operation etc. We all breathed a sigh of relief as everyone passed the tests, and focused on the skills test on Sunday.

On Saturday I went to the club for our regular training session to find that the conditions were quite tough. Yesterday (Sunday) they were even tougher! The Manly guys came to our beach to do the water test, their faces were a picture when they arrived and saw the size of the swell :)

We all managed to pass the tests (except Joss from Manly was unfortunatly hospitalised whilst trying to carry out a board rescue) .The run-swim-run was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do! Three months ago when we started training I wouldn’t have been fit enough to complete it.

Joining up with the surf club has been great for me - I have got fitter, become safe in the water, learnt some useful first aid skills, and most importantly made some great new friends. I’m looking forward to my first day in the uniform out on patrol. Watch out for the pics of me in my purple budgie smugglers coming soon :)
