I quite like MyBlogLog (see my sidebar). I was looking at it earlier and wondering how easy it would be to build a bot to spam the referers, and how many of my readers were real. I think a referer spambot for MyBlogLog.com would be a great way to gain targetted traffic to any blog, especially whilst the widgets are new, and blog owners and visitors are following that natural nosey instinct that people have to see who else is interested in the same stuff as them.
I’m pretty sure someone must have built this by now, and I’m just wondering who will be the first to admit using it?

With an improved editor, image uploader, security features, and more. Nice polish added to already great blogging software. Some things included in the release are going to help my projects a real lot; stuff like the ability to have any page as a static front page, and blogroll structure allowing subcategories makes Wordpress a true CMS and not just a blogging platform that can be hacked into a CMS.
I’m hoping that my favorite plugins will still work (I wont be upgrading any of my existing sites until I have checked). More on plugins is available here.
One more feature that is going to make the internet a much, much better place: spellcheck. Until now I have been using the Google toolbar to spellcheck my posts, but it consistently screwed up my formatting. I guess this is why so many bloggers don’t bother…

I’m surprised more people aren’t using the excellent aLinks plugin as a tool for creating temporary deep links in Wordpress blogs. Wordpress is the SEO’s choice for content management, and aLinks makes it really easy to change any keyword or keyphrase in the database into a link (the plugin actually creates the link on the fly when the content is being printed to the screen, it does not change the text in the database).
Relevant deep links are of increasing SEO value as more traditional methods of producing links (see directories and article marketing) are being devalued. If someone like text-link-ads.com were to produce a similar plugin to integrate with their link sales system it would be a great improvement on the blogroll style links they are selling now.

It would seem that the US Senate has finally discovered the power of the blackhat propaganda machine. Great post.
