I stupidly closed my AUD bank accounts before leaving Australia last year. Now we are planning to return I need $100,000 for a government investment to get enough points for the visa. I figure transferring a couple of thousand a month from the UK will help build up the amount over the next year or so before we go, and smooth out any changes in the exchange rate.
A quick search reveals that phoning the UK branch of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia might help 020 7710 3990.
Its also possible to open an Oz hsbc account. Go to www.hsbc.com.au click on online savings account, fill in forms, print ID verification form and take your ID to local hsbc branch to be verified. You need $2000 dollars to activate account. You dont need to be a UK hsbc customer to do this. Apparently their charges are less than some other Oz banks though a drawback is that there aren’t as many branches.
Also worth a look is this website:

Started working with a new php coder yesterday for some WordPress additions. Not your usual spotty geek! She seems pretty professional from her feedback, lets hope she does some good work. My old php coder York Kie seems to have given up working through RAC, which is a shame as he was really fast and professional, and turned out great code.

JenSense reports that there are new features in eMiniMalls. The one that caught my eye was the ability to use your WordPress post title as keywords by adding this simple line of code.
ch_query = “< ? php the_title(); ?>“;
I am off to update my eMiniMall plugin!

Gary has developed a standalone version of WP elite for use on individual servers. Looking forward to seeing that!
Hopefully some other items will be fixed with this release too.
